Castles in Canada
Casa Loma, Canada. A relatively new castle sitting in five acres of gardens, this was built in the early 1900’s for Sir Henry Pellatt until he declared financial ruin some ten years later.
The castle was seized by the city as payment for back taxes and now houses a Regimental Museum. It is currently undergoing exterior restoration.
Frontenac Castle, Canada was built in the 19th century in the historic part of Quebec City and is now a luxury hotel.
It is as emblematic to Quebec as the Eiffel Tower is to Paris and plays a massive role in the city’s activities, whilst also having been designated a United Nations World Heritage Site.
